Tapping his pre-Peace Corps experience of working with The McDevitt Company in Los Angeles, a retail tenant & landlord representation firm, Leslie hand-selected tenants who exhibited synergy to create an open commercial plaza with a country mart feel. One of our favorite places in Nicaragua, El Encanto del Sur. An expansive gated community spread over 450 acres with six different phases. Breathtaking views, robust flor and fauna, 24/7 security, and amazing amenities provided by Tree Casa Resort – all while being a few minutes from the town of San Juan Del Sur. An incredible place to call home in our peaceful beachside paradise!

In an effort to help our local community we will be donating 300 pounds of beans, 300 pounds of rice, 300 pounds of sugar, and 50 liters of cooking oil. With these supplies we have created 32 packages of food that will go to local families in need to make sure those who are without can have food on their table. In reality, this is a small dent in the large amount of families that have been affected in our community via reduced wages, loss jobs, shuttered businesses, and overall life changing economic times.

We sat down with Juan at one his projects, El Romance, and discussed his real estate ventures over the last 15+ years – lessons learned as well as his vision of real estate in San Juan Del Sur and Nicaragua in the future. We speak about integrating sustainability into development, on both an ecological and community level, preservation of one of the most biologically diverse countries in the world, and our roles in this process.

Last year was very active in the real estate markets of San Juan del Sur and Tola. We saw a high amount of sales for existing homes, apartments, and commercial property that were deemed to be priced below replacement cost value and had final sale prices that were reflective of current market conditions.

We can’t believe it either, we are already in the 2nd month of 2020 and it feels like 2019 just ended!  As the new year barrels on we wanted to briefly recap 2019 as we look towards the future. Last year was a year of growth on both the personal and professional front. Personally, Belkys launched her clothing store Vintage Coleccion, and we formally established Team Invest Nicaragua to better serve the real estate markets of San Juan del Sur and Tola.
