Right now the world is dealing with an unprecedented event that has affected every human being on the planet in a way that seemed unimaginable a few months ago. Most of us are at home trying to flatten the curve, others are stepping out everyday to participate in the response to the pandemic. Whether working on the frontlines as doctors and nurses, making mask for healthcare workers and neighbors, providing transport for essential goods, or simply checking-in on a neighbor to make sure they are doing okay. This tragic event has shown us an epic level of unity and giving across the globe like nothing we have previously seen in our lifetimes.
#GivingTuesdayNow is a newly created global day of unity and giving that will take place on Tuesday, May 5th, 2020 as an emergency response to the unparalleled needs caused by COVID-19.
In an effort to help our local community we will be donating 300 pounds of beans, 300 pounds of rice, 300 pounds of sugar, and 50 liters of cooking oil. With these supplies we have created 32 packages of food that will go to local families in need to make sure those who are without can have food on their table. In reality, this is a small dent in the large amount of families that have been affected in our community via reduced wages, loss jobs, shuttered businesses, and overall life changing economic times. #GivingTuesdayNow is a great opportunity to help, but it is just the beginning. Our community and many of its members will continue to need support for the foreseeable future as the world economy struggles to stabilize and return to normalcy from the effects of the pandemic.
We are calling on our family, friends, clients, and community to help as well.
Please feel free to contact us directly if you would like additional information. If you know someone in our area who may be without food, please let us know so that we can try to get assistance to them.
If you are already helping, thank you! It takes a village and the whole is greater than the sum of its parts!
Please stay safe, we are in this together!
