Commercial flights to Nicaragua are currently operating, here is the basic information you should know to start planning your trip:

Avianca Commercial Flights have Resumed!

Avianca Airlines has resumed their commercial flights to Nicaragua with departures from the US cities of New York, Washington D.C, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. These flights will have a brief layover in San Salvador before arriving to Nicaragua. There are also direct flights to Managua from Miami.

Most importantly, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health requires all travelers to produce a negative PCR COVID test within 72 hours before entering the country.  These test results must be emailed to Avianca no less than 36 hours before the flight’s departure.  The original test results need to be presented to Avianca on your day of travel as well.

You can read more detailed information and purchase tickets directly on Avianca’s Website.

An additional travel option is to fly to Costa Rica and cross the border by land to Nicaragua or take a chartered flight from San Jose to Managua.

Learn more about Costa Rica travel restrictions directly from the Costa Rica Tourism Board website.

Although options are still somewhat limited we are thrilled that there are now more choices for those looking to get to Nicaragua immediately. We expect that more airlines will resume travel in the upcoming months.

Lastly, as discussed in our previous update, private chartered flights are still available.  The most popular and cost efficient departures are from Florida, Texas, and Mexico; with prices starting around $2,250 USD one way per person on an eight passenger plane.  If you need assistance organizing a chartered flight please let us know.

Stay tuned for more updates and as always please feel free to reach out to us at anytime with any questions.

We’ll see you soon at the beach!
