Commercial flights to Nicaragua are currently operating. Here is the essential information you should know to start planning your trip:
Avianca Airlines has resumed their commercial flights to Nicaragua with departures from the US cities of New York, Washington D.C, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. These flights will have a brief layover in San Salvador before arriving in Nicaragua. There are also direct flights to Managua from Miami.
Most importantly, the Nicaraguan Ministry of Health requires all travelers to produce a negative PCR COVID test within 72 hours before entering the country. These test results must be emailed to Avianca no less than 36 hours before the flight’s departure. The original test results must also be presented to Avianca on your day of travel.

Another travel option is to fly to Costa Rica and cross the border by land to Nicaragua or take a chartered flight from San Jose to Managua.

Although options are still somewhat limited, we are thrilled that there are now more choices for those looking to get to Nicaragua immediately. We expect that more airlines will resume travel in the upcoming months.
